What you may do with this reference, and with the scripts you write.

In short: read this reference, share it, and write as many scripts as you like — they are yours. What it does not license is building another compiler, interpreter or translator for the language.

Ackee Script Reference License

Definitions

“The Reference” means the documentation of the Ackee Script language published by Ackee at ackee.dev/docs/language, including its text, examples, grammar and error catalog.

“Your Scripts” means files written in Ackee Script by you or for you.

“An Implementation” means software or a service that compiles, interprets, executes or deploys Ackee Script, or translates it to or from any other language or format.

1. Reading and sharing the Reference

You may read, copy, print, quote and share the Reference, in whole or in part, for any purpose, including a commercial one. Keep this license with any substantial copy, and do not present an altered copy as Ackee's.

2. Your Scripts

You may use the Reference to write, use, share, publish and sell Your Scripts, and to teach others to write them. Your Scripts are yours; Ackee claims no rights in them. You may copy the Reference's examples into Your Scripts without attribution.

3. Tools

You may build editor support for Ackee Script — syntax highlighting, snippets, completion and formatting — and tools that generate Ackee Script or send Your Scripts to Ackee to be checked or deployed.

4. What this license does not allow

You may not use the Reference, in whole or in part, to create an Implementation other than Ackee's own, or to help anyone else create one. This applies whether or not the Implementation copies any of Ackee's code or text.

5. No other rights

This license grants no right in Ackee's software, no patent license, and no right to use the names Ackee or Ackee Script or their logos, except to refer truthfully to the language.

6. Termination

If you breach section 4, your rights under this license end automatically. Your Scripts remain yours.

7. No warranty

The Reference is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Ackee is not liable for any loss arising from its use.

8. Changes

Ackee may publish new versions of this license. You may keep using any part of the Reference you received under the version that applied when you received it.
